Stadt des Kindes

The Stadt des Kindes (City of the Child) was constructed in Vienna in 1969-1974 as an alternative to traditional children's homes, and is interesting both architecturally and as the site of a utopian social project. After it closed in 2001 it was temporarily used as an asylum for refugees. Currently, parts of it are hastily being demolished to make room for appartment buildings.
