Random People was founded in 2007 as a platform for a diversity of activities in the research and practice of performance, photography, writing and related fields.
Due to the collaborative nature and the changing contexts of our practice, a variety of topics and questions are explored in the projects we undertake:
- Performance and journey, travel, mobility, tourism, walking etc.
- Performance and documentation, photography, the archive etc.
- Collaboration, working processes, labour etc.
The work can take different forms: performance, photography, lecture performance, installation, writing etc.
The “etc.” at the end of each of these lists is deliberate: there is never a definitive version, only a momentary manifestation of a project. In a different context a project might manifest differently.
